Camp Herms

Camp Herms is located in El Cerrito. This camp serves as a year-round camp available for unit campouts and activities and is a host for council and district training courses and Cub Scout camps. It is situated atop the El Cerrito hills and can be used as the hub for visits to local historical sites, San Francisco and the surrounding area.

For directions to the camp, download our map or view an interactive map online.

Camp Herms can be used in multiple ways for many different activities and events, making this facility one of our most used camps. The facilities include a meeting lodge with kitchen, campsites, and sleeping shelters.  The upper rim sites give great views of San Francisco Bay if it is not too foggy.

The camp is also the base for the Fages Historic Trail, commemorating the trek by Captain Pedro Fages, who was searching for a land route around the San Francisco Bay in 1772.

For reservations, download and send in a the reservation form or contact the Council Program Secretary, Pam Smith at (925) 674-6126.
