Pay your 2009 OA dues here! Vigil Nominations 2009 Each year, the lodge strives to recognize its most worthy members with the Vigil Honor. Selections are made with great care, and with thorough consideration of all possible candidates. As noted in the Order of the Arrow Handbook: “The Vigil Honor is a high mark of distinction and recognition reserved for those Arrowmen who, by reason of exceptional service, personal effort, and unselfish interest, have made distinguished contributions beyond the immediate responsibilities of their position or office to one or more of the following: their lodge, the Order of the Arrow, Scouting, or their Scout camp. Under no circumstances should tenure in Scouting or the Order of the Arrow be considered as reason enough for a Vigil Honor recommendation.” Any registered member of Mt. Diablo Silverado Council can nominate one of these people. Please use the attached Vigil Nomination Form. Other worthy lodge members who have been Brotherhood members for at least two years, but have not yet paid their dues for 2009, may also be nominated, provided they pay their dues for this year. Conclave 2009 Every section in the OA has an annual conclave and different sections have their conclaves at different times during the year. But in section W3N, we have more than a conclave, we have a Three North Experience. The Three North Experience is a gathering of arrowmen in section W3N that is organized and planned by the section leadership. Every section in the OA has an annual conclave and different sections have their conclaves at different times during the year. At the Three North Experience you will be able to learn a variety of new skills in the training sessions that are offered. You can meet other arrowmen from other lodges and trade patches. There are activies between lodges, sometimes in games that you won't find anywhere else. the Three North Expeience is also the place where the elections for section officers take place. You may even get to meet a national officer of the OA. Three things that the Three North Experience has are lots of spirit, fellowship, and fun. You can sign up for Conclave 2009 here. Fellowship 2009 The 2009 Ut-In Sélica Lodge Fellowship was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us and congratulations to the newly elected 2009-2010 Lodge Officers. They will be installed at the June Wolfeboro Ordeal. Lodge Plan Book A new lodge planbook has been created by the Lodge Secretary. This new format should save the lodge quite a bit of money because people will no longer receive a new planbook every year. Instead, you will only receive a planbook insert with new contact information for Lodge Officers and the dates of upcoming events. If you would like to download a copy of the new planbook click here. If you are looking for a copy of the annual update attend the next Lodge event and we will make sure you receive one. Patches The Lodge has started to collect pictures of all of the old Lodge flaps, if you or someone you know has one of the flaps that are missing, or a really cool OA patch please send a picture of it to the Lodge email. Check out what we have so far... Quality Apanuc The Chief's Council has created a new award! Quality Apanuc is desgined to recgonize the Apanucs who go above and beond to make sure the Lodge runs smoothly. This award has 8 core reuirements and 4 of the 9 electives must be completed. Any Apanuc the achieves this award will recieve pins with the bear and year of achievement to go onto the Lodge flap. Learn more... |
